Welcome to SecureConnect!
The simplest way to identify and connect users and devices with
maximum simplicity, security, and high performance.
This Quick Start Guide covers unboxing to getting you up and running in minutes.
Have your SecureConnect Hub and smartphone ready…
Let’s begin!
Included in the Box
Inside, you’ll find your SecureConnect Hub, power adapter, Ethernet cable, and a quick start guide.
Installation Best Practices
When choosing a location for your SecureConnect Hub, please make sure to follow the recommendations below for optimal performance and reliability.
Free Airflow
Set the device on an open shelf or desktop and avoid closed cabinets or stacking items on top. Several inches of clearance on all sides is a good rule to follow.
Cool Temperature
Place the Hub in a cool spot, avoiding direct sunlight, radiators, or stacks of equipment.
Strong Cellular Reception
To connect to the strongest cellular signal possible, place the Hub near a window, exterior wall, or open area when possible. A rule of thumb is: if a cellular phone gets three or more bars in a certain location, the Hub will too.
Connector Care
To avoid damage when plugging in Ethernet cables, gently press down on the neck of the Ethernet cable while inserting it into the Ethernet port. Insert cables straight in until you hear a firm click - don’t force them.
Power Supply Limitations
Only use the Veea supplied Power Supply. Use of a different power supply may damage the VeeaHub.
Environment
The SecureConnect Hub is for indoor use only. It must not come into contact with any fluids or substances which might otherwise cause damage or present a fire or electrical hazard to the Hub or personnel.
Orientation
Be sure to place the Hub on its four rubber feet.
Connections
- The SecureConnect Hub can be connected via Ethernet or cellular network (SIM).
- At the bottom of the hub, you'll find 2 Ethernet ports. Port 1 is for the Ethernet connection to the Internet. If you have devices such as a point-of-sale system or switch that require a wired connection, connect them to port 2 (LAN) as shown below.
- The power cord connection is also shown below.
Insert the SIM
- Carefully flip the Hub over and rest it on a level surface.
- Remove the SIM tray from the side of the Hub and insert the SIM card into the tray. The contacts on the SIM card will be facing upwards, towards you, and the tray is encoded to allow it to be inserted only one way. Make sure the SIM card is securely installed in the tray. A general rule of thumb is that if you gently shake the tray, the SIM won't move or come loose.
- Finally, be careful not to force the tray back into the device and gently slide it inwards while maintaining proper alignment flush with the surface of the Hub.
