The locations screen leverages Open Street Maps (OSM) to provide a facility to allow you to accurately enter global locations for your VeeaHubs and display these on a detailed map.
In addition to some features shared across other Control Center screens, the locations screen has three sections as follows:

Selection of a name from the records table opens the locations detail page for the selected location. Here you can:

Add a Location
Add Automatically From Map Coordinates
To add a new location automatically using the map:
- Navigate to Locations from the left-hand menu.
- Click the New Location button to open the location creation form.
- Enter a unique name in the Location Name field. This can be any combination of letters and numbers.
- Use the interactive map to find your desired location:
- Click and drag to move around the map.
- Use the + and – buttons to zoom in and out.
- When you’ve reached the desired area, click the map to place a pin, then select Set pin. The latitude and longitude will be filled in automatically.
- Once you’ve entered a location name and selected a valid point on the map, the Create button will become active.
- Click Create to confirm. A confirmation message will appear. Click Done to close it.
The newly created location will now appear in the list of configured locations and as a red pin on the map. Each pin links directly to the location’s details page.
Add from Longitude/Latitude Coordinates
- Navigate to Locations from the left-hand side menu.
- Click the New Location button to open the location creation screen.
- Enter a unique name in the Location Name field. This name can include letters and numbers.
- Find the required latitude and longitude coordinates (for example, using Google Maps) and enter them into the Address / Coordinates box in comma-separated format (e.g.,
40.712776,-74.005974). - Click the arrow button next to the entry box to look up the location on the map.
- Once both a valid coordinate and location name are entered, the Create button becomes active. Click it to save the location.
- A confirmation message will appear once the location is successfully added. Click Done to close the dialog.
- The location will now appear in the list of configured locations and will be marked with a red pin on the map.
Add from a Street Address
- Navigate to Locations from the left-hand side menu and click the New Location button.
- Enter a unique name in the Location Name field.
- Type the full address (with comma-separated parts) into the Address / Coordinates box (e.g.,
1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA). - Click the arrow button next to the entry box to place a marker on the map for the entered address.
- Once a valid address and location name are entered, the Create button becomes available. Click it to add the location.
- A confirmation message will appear. Click Done to close it.
- The new location will now be listed and pinned on the map in the interface.
Add a Mesh to a location
To add a Mesh to a location, select the 'Locations' screen:
- Select the location name from the record table of locations. This opens the location details screen). Select the 'Add Meshes' button.
- The Add Meshes selection dialog appears. Select (tick) the 'Action' box for the required Mesh row.
- Notes:
- In the list of Meshes, users can have 10 meshes per page
- Meshes can be sorted by name, status and action
- Meshes with installing status during initial bootstrap to the user group will not be available in the list of meshes.
- Meshes with particular statuses can be assigned, these include:
- Healthy
- Offline
- Errors
- Reboot required
- Installing during recovery.
- Meshes with a 'Busy' status can not be assigned
- Users can add more than one mesh at a time.
- Notes:
- Select the 'Add # Mesh(es)' button. A message dialog is presented which confirms that the operation was a success. Select 'Done' to close the message.
- The associated Meshes are now assigned to the location and listed in the record table of VeeaHubs and Meshes at the defined location.
Add a VeeaHub to a location
- Go to the Locations screen from the main navigation menu.
- From the list of locations, click on the desired location name to open its details page.
- Select the Add VeeaHubs button.
- In the dialog that appears, check the box under the Action column for each VeeaHub you want to assign to this location.
- Click the Add VeeaHubs button again to confirm your selection.
- A success message will appear. Click Done to complete the process.
- The selected VeeaHubs are now assigned to the location and listed in the location’s VeeaHubs and Meshes table.
Removing a Mesh or VeeaHub
Remove a Mesh
- Go to the Locations screen from the navigation menu.
- From the list of locations, click the location name that contains the mesh you want to remove.
- In the VeeaHubs and Meshes table, use the Meshes filter to display only meshes.
- Locate the mesh to remove and click the Remove button under the Action column.
- In the confirmation dialog that appears, click Remove.
- After a success message appears, click Done.
- You’ll be returned to the location details page.
Remove a VeeaHub
- Go to the Locations screen from the navigation menu.
- From the list of locations, click the location name that contains the VeeaHub you want to remove.
- Use the VeeaHubs filter to display only VeeaHubs.
- Locate the VeeaHub to remove and click the Remove button under the Action column.
- In the confirmation dialog that appears, click Remove.
- After a success message appears, click Done.
- You’ll be returned to the location details page.
Notes / Tips
- A VeeaHub or Mesh can only be added to one location.
