To configure your VeeaHub’s wireless settings:
- Select a VeeaHub from the VeeaHubs tab or mesh page
Click on VeeaHub Settings from the top-right corner of the page
- Tap either Wi-Fi 2.4GHz or Wi-Fi 5GHz from the sidebar.
Wi-Fi 2.4GHz covers standard 2.4GHz channels Wi-Fi 5GHz covers higher-bandwidth 5GHz channels.
The available channels depend on your region due to national wireless regulations.
Each VeeaHub can broadcast up to four virtual APs per band. These virtual APs are multiplexed on a single Wi-Fi channel, meaning all four share the same channel and hardware.
Wi-Fi configuration is divided into three tabs:
- Access Points – Defines SSID, security, and visibility options
- Radio Settings – Controls channel selection and radio-level settings
- Scan Channels
Click on an AP box to expand and customize it:
Hub vs Network Access Points
You can configure an SSID either at the local VeeaHub level (Hub) or across the entire mesh network (Network).
Hub settings apply only to the selected VeeaHub and can be modified on any node. Use this option when you want custom settings for individual hubs. Network settings apply across all VeeaHubs in the mesh and can only be edited on the gateway node (MEN). This ensures consistency across the entire network.
When applying changes, the current position of the Hub/Network slider determines which configuration is used.
Important: If you’re viewing or editing Network settings on the MEN but intend to apply changes only locally, make sure the slider is set to Hub before applying them.
Wi-Fi Security Options
Each wireless Access Point (AP) on your VeeaHub can be configured with its own security settings. The platform supports three security types:
- Open - no password required
- Pre-Shared Key (PSK) (default)
- Enterprise (RADIUS-based) - Additional configuration fields will appear when this option is selected, such as:
- RADIUS server IP address
- Authentication port
- Shared secret
You can assign different security types to different virtual APs on the same VeeaHub.
To configure security:
- Go to the Wi-Fi tab under the desired band (2.4GHz or 5GHz)
- Select the virtual AP you want to configure
- Tap the Security Type dropdown
- Choose one of the three options
- Complete the required fields based on your selection
Radio Settings
Use this tab to set radio configuration options for the APs.
The available channels depend on the country where the VeeaHub has been registered, because local regulations vary. When Auto Selection is on, the AP channel is automatically chosen for you, based on various measurements of the quality of the signal. These measurements can be seen using the Wi-Fi Network Scan option. You can override this selection by choosing a single channel from those available, and you can also restrict the selection of channels that Auto Select uses.
Auto Select is not dynamic: once the channel has been selected, this applies until the VeeaHub is restarted or until you choose a different channel. Auto Select is not available in certain circumstances, for example, on the VHC09 the 5 GHz radio is shared by the APs and the wireless mesh, and the frequency channel is selected by the option on the Network tab.
Scan Channels
Use the Scan Channels tab to perform a channel scan to determine the best available channel.
Click on the "Scan/Rescan" button on top-right corner to perform a scan.
