There may come a time when you need to remove a VeeaHub from your account. This can be done easily using the VeeaHub Manager (VHM) app. Common reasons for removing a VeeaHub include transferring ownership to another user, replacing or upgrading hardware, or reassigning the role of the VeeaHub within your mesh network (for example, demoting a gateway node to a standard edge node).
Once removed, the VeeaHub can be added to a different account or reassigned to a different mesh, making this process essential for reconfiguration or redeployment.
Removing a VeeaHub
- Open the VeeaHubs Section
From the Home screen, tap the VeeaHubs icon to see a list of available hubs associated with your account. - Select the Mesh Network
Choose the relevant network from the My Meshes section to view all nodes within that mesh. - Choose the VeeaHub to Remove
From the list of VeeaHubs in the selected mesh, tap on the node you intend to remove. This brings up the Dashboard for that specific hub. - Remove the VeeaHub
On the Dashboard screen, tap the Remove VeeaHub option. A confirmation dialog will appear. You must confirm the removal to proceed. This action unregisters the device from your account and disassociates it from your mesh network.
Important Notes and Considerations
- Removing a Gateway Node (MEN): You cannot remove a gateway VeeaHub unless you first:
- Remove all other nodes in the mesh, or
- Assign another VeeaHub as the gateway
- Uninstall Packages First: Any packages installed on the VeeaHub must be removed before the hub itself can be removed. Failing to do so may result in configuration conflicts.
- Device Reusability: After removal, the VeeaHub can be registered under a new account or added to a different network. Its role (gateway or edge node) can also be reassigned.
- Data Loss Warning: Any local configurations not saved to the cloud will be lost during removal. Double-check that all necessary settings have been backed up or applied.
