To configure your VeeaHub’s wireless settings, tap either 2.4GHz AP or 5GHz AP from the Dashboard in VeeaHub Manager. Each option corresponds to a wireless band and lets you configure access points (APs) on that frequency.
2.4GHz AP covers standard 2.4GHz channels 5GHz AP covers higher-bandwidth 5GHz channels
The available channels depend on your region due to national wireless regulations.
Each VeeaHub can broadcast up to four virtual APs per band. These virtual APs are multiplexed on a single Wi-Fi channel, meaning all four share the same channel and hardware.
Wi-Fi configuration is divided into two tabs:
- Wi-Fi Tab – Defines SSID, security, and visibility options
- Radio Tab – Controls channel selection and radio-level settings
Wi-Fi Tab
This tab allows you to configure individual virtual APs.
| Name | Description |
| Status | Displays the current state of the AP (e.g., Active, Disabled, Incomplete, Changes not applied). |
| Hub/Network | Choose whether the settings apply to this individual VeeaHub (Hub) or across the entire mesh (Network). Only Gateway hubs can apply changes at the Network level. |
| Hidden | When set this hides the SSID from client devices. |
| Enabled | See In Use above. |
| SSID | This is used to specify the SSID for the virtual AP. |
| Security Type | Choose the authentication method (e.g., WPA2-PSK). Tap Configure to change the security settings. |
| Second, third and fourth virtual AP controls | Scroll down to see these. These are the network controls for the other virtual APs, which replicate the layout as shown above for the first virtual AP. |
Once configured, changes can be applied immediately or saved for later. Always verify your mesh health and connectivity after making wireless changes to ensure your VeeaHub is reachable and functional.
Radio Tab
The Radio tab lets you control the radio-level behavior of the selected band (2.4GHz or 5GHz).
- Channel Selection: Choose a specific Wi-Fi channel or allow the system to automatically select one using Auto Select.
- Auto Select: When enabled, the system chooses the best channel based on real-time wireless environment analysis. Once selected, the channel remains fixed until the VeeaHub is restarted or a new selection is made manually.
- Channel Restrictions: Optionally limit the list of channels that Auto Select can choose from.
Once configured, changes can be applied immediately or saved for later. Always verify your mesh health and connectivity after making wireless changes to ensure your VeeaHub is reachable and functional.
Wi-Fi Security Options
Each wireless Access Point (AP) on your VeeaHub can be configured with its own security settings. The platform supports three security types:
- Open - no password required
- Pre-Shared Key (PSK) (default)
- Enterprise (RADIUS-based) - Additional configuration fields will appear when this option is selected, such as:
- RADIUS server IP address
- Authentication port
- Shared secret
You can assign different security types to different virtual APs on the same VeeaHub.
To configure security:
- Go to the Wi-Fi tab under the desired band (2.4GHz or 5GHz)
- Select the virtual AP you want to configure
- Tap the Security Type dropdown
- Choose one of the three options
- Complete the required fields based on your selection
