Tap the Firewall Configuration option on the Dashboard to manage firewall rules on your VeeaHub network. The screen displays any existing rules across two tabs: Accept/Drop Rules and Forward Rules.
Creating a New Firewall Rule
To create a new firewall rule:
- Tap + Add Rule or the plus icon if rules already exist.
- Choose the rule type: Accept, Drop, or Forward.
- Select the protocol: TCP or UDP.
- Fill in the required fields for the selected rule type.
- Tap Create to save the rule.
Accept/Drop Rules
These rules define whether specific traffic should be allowed or blocked.
Configuration options:
- Action: Choose whether to Accept or Drop the traffic.
- Protocol: Select TCP or UDP.
- Source IP Address: The IP address the rule will apply to.
- Port or Port Range: Specify a single port (e.g. 80) or a range using the format start:end (e.g. 1000:2000).
Forward Rules
These rules forward incoming traffic on specific ports to a different local port or destination.
Configuration options:
- Action: Set to Forward.
- Protocol: Select TCP or UDP.
- Port or Port Range: Specify a single port or range as described above.
- Source IP Address: The IP address that triggers the forwarding.
- Local Port: The destination port on the VeeaHub to forward traffic to.
Deleting a Firewall Rule
To delete a rule, tap Remove next to the rule you want to delete. The rule will be removed from the firewall configuration.
