The LAN screen in VeeaHub Manager is available only when connected to the Gateway Node in your mesh. This screen allows you to configure up to four separate LANs for your VeeaHub network.
To access LAN settings, open VeeaHub Manager and tap LAN from the Dashboard.
LAN configuration lets you define how connected devices communicate within your local network. It’s also where you link together your Access Point (AP) settings and WAN configuration to build a complete networking setup.
Each LAN can be assigned to different virtual APs or physical Ethernet ports, allowing for network segmentation, guest access, or dedicated VLAN use cases.
Accessing LAN Settings
Open the VeeaHub Manager app Tap on the Dashboard for your Gateway VeeaHub Select the LAN option.
You will see tabs for LAN 1, LAN 2, and so on—each representing a configurable LAN profile.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Tabs | Switch between LAN 1–4 to configure each LAN independently. |
| Active | Toggle ON to activate the selected LAN on the mesh. |
| LAN Name | Give the LAN a recognizable name (e.g., “Office LAN”, “Guest Network”). |
| IPv4 Subnet | Define the IP address range for the LAN (e.g., 192.168.100.0/24). |
| Client Isolation | When ON, devices on this LAN cannot see or communicate with each other. Useful for guest networks. |
Linking LANs to Network Interfaces
Access Points
Each LAN can be mapped to specific virtual APs on either band:
- AP1: 2.4GHz
- AP2: 5GHz
Use the toggle controls to enable or disable routing for each AP. This determines which Wi-Fi SSID will serve clients on this LAN.
Ethernet Ports
You can also route a LAN to specific Ethernet ports. For each available Ethernet port:
- Toggle ON to allow this LAN to serve wired devices via that port
WAN Settings
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| WAN Routed / Bridged | Choose whether this LAN is routed to the WAN (NAT) or bridged directly. |
| WAN Interface | Select the WAN interface number to associate this LAN with the correct uplink. |
Example Use Cases
- Guest Wi-Fi: Create a LAN with client isolation, mapped only to one AP, and routed to a separate WAN.
- Secure LAN: Use bridged mode with Ethernet-only access for trusted wired devices.
- IoT VLAN: Set up a dedicated subnet and isolate IoT devices from other network clients.
If you’re unsure how to link LANs to APs or WANs, we recommend setting up your Wi-Fi and WAN configurations first, then returning to LAN settings to complete the mapping.
The DHCP and Reserved IPs configuration screens are available only on the Gateway VeeaHub (also called the MEN – Mesh Entry Node). These settings allow you to define dynamic IP address ranges for each LAN and optionally assign static IPs to specific devices.
You must configure your LANs first before enabling DHCP or reserved IPs.
Configuring DHCP
- Open VeeaHub Manager
- Tap your Gateway VeeaHub to access the Dashboard
- Select Local Area Network
- Select DHCP
This screen allows you to configure a DHCP server for each of your active LANs.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Tabs (LAN 1…LAN 4) | Choose which LAN to configure DHCP for |
| Lease Time | Duration (in minutes) each IP is leased to a client |
| DNS 1 / DNS 2 | Primary and secondary DNS servers (e.g., 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) |
| Start IP / End IP | Define the start and end of the IP range for this LAN |
| # IPs | Total number of addresses (auto-calculated) |
| Subnet Mask | Should match the subnet defined in your LAN settings |
Repeat this configuration for each LAN where DHCP is required.
Managing Reserved IP Addresses
- From the Local Area Network page, tab Reserved IPs
- Tap + Add Reserved IP
Reserved IPs let you assign fixed addresses to devices based on their Device Name or MAC Address. Up to 10 reserved IPs per LAN are supported.
This screen is only available when the LAN is routed and not managed by another service (e.g., bridged to WAN or controlled by vTPN).
Adding a Reserved IP
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Active | Enable or disable this reservation |
| Device Name | A recognizable name for the device (optional) |
| Device MAC Address | MAC address of the device (optional alternative to name) |
| Assign IP | The IP address you wish to reserve |
| Comment | Notes for reference (optional) |
Note: You must restart the VeeaHub for reserved IP changes to take effect.
Managing Existing Reserved IPs
- Tap Clear Fields to reset the input form
- Tap Remove to delete a reserved IP
- Restart the VeeaHub to apply changes
DHCP and Reserved IP settings are powerful tools for managing both dynamic and static addressing in your network. If you're unsure which configuration is right for you, we recommend starting with DHCP and only assigning reserved IPs where necessary (e.g., for printers, servers, or access points).
