Accessing Control Center
- Visit: controlcenter.veea.co
- Use your admin credentials. First-time users will receive an email asking to verify their email address which authorizes their account.
- Whitelist emails from @veea.co to avoid missing critical messages.
- After logging in, you will land on the home screen viewing the first site/location in your list.
Home
On the home screen, you can:
- View the health of your SecureConnect deployment
- View cellular data consumption per device.
Switching Sites
In the upper left corner of the Home screen, you can click on the drop-down menu to switch to a different site if you have multiple sites/locations.
Networks
This menu displays the VeeaHub Meshes enrolled, and the role of the hubs as the Gateway or Mesh Nodes. An “Updating” status means the device was enrolled and is waiting to be connected to a network.
Clicking on the network name brings up the main network page (below).
Buttons at the upper right give you options to change the network name or configure Wi-Fi.
For Wi-Fi configuration, you can modify the names and passwords of the built-in network profiles.
On the Network home page, you can see if there are software updates available, and there are also options for removing a VeeaHub, restarting or powering down a VeeaHub and also resetting the device.
*Please note that removing a VeeaHub should only be used if you plan to Unenroll the Hub and re-enroll it into another site/location.
Locations
It’s important to add a location so that the Hub status can be monitored from a central management network operations center.
Click on the “New Location” button at the upper right to get started.
Enter the Location name and street address or GPS Lat/Long coordinates and then click the “Create” button.
You will then arrive at the Home Page for that Location. At the upper right, click on the button “Add VeeaHubs”. This will assign the Hub at this site to the location you just created.
Your Hub should be listed – just check the box next to it and click on the “Add VeeaHubs” button.
Sites
Select the “Sites” menu to administer the sites under your organization.
*Note that all new SecureConnect Hubs need a Site created ahead of time so that they can be enrolled into that site. The button to create a new Site is found at the upper right side.
On the Sites page, via the icons on the righthand side of each Site, you can edit Site names, and view or create new Site Administrators who can access their individual locations using the VHM mobile application. You can also switch to the overall management view of any of your sites from this menu.
Creating Site Admins
- Choose "Sites" on the left-side menu
- Choose the Add Site Admin icon next to the desired site
- Complete the Name and Email fields and choose "Create Admin"
- The new site administrator will receive an email to create their individual password. They will be required to create a password and validate their email address before being able to log in via the Veea mobile app.
SecureConnect Administration
Clicking on the SecureConnect link on the lefthand pane brings you to all of the networking functionality, set up, operations, insights and dashboards. You'll arrive at the Security Dashboard which shows an overview of all web traffic through the Organization over time. This includes:
- Identified threats
- Blocked websites
- Daily traffic insights
The Sites page lists the Organization’s locations. This example shows three locations. Authorized managers for each site are also listed here.
The Content Filtering Tab allows an Organization Administrator to allow/block specific web domains, prevent access to broad website categories (e.g. terrorism, adult, etc.), and block known threats like malware, botnets, and new domains.
Different policies can be set for the Organization’s guest network to give it different restrictions than the organization’s primary network.
The Profiles tab enables an Organization Administrator to set policy rules for different types of connections. The Secure profile (for very secure connections), the Common Profile (still secure but with less stringent security requirements), and the Guest Profile (for minimal connection authorization requirements).
Profile Details
Secure
- Fully isolated from the other Profiles
- For endpoints that require high security
Common
- Isolated from Guest
- Accessible from Secure
- For shared endpoints such as printers, TVs, streaming audio
Guest
- Internet-only connectivity
- No access to Common or Secure
Endpoint authorization can also be configured here, with these options:
- Requires authorization on every connection
- Requires authorization only once
- Does not need explicit authorization
The organization can determine the level of security required for each profile. In the below example:
- Devices assigned to the Secure Profile require authorization every connection
- Devices assigned to the Guest Profile do not require connection authorization
The Networks page displays the names of all connected gateways across the Organization.
Select an individual gateway to view a detailed analysis of its network traffic as well as a list of all connected endpoints.
The Endpoint Devices page displays a list of the Organization's endpoints. This includes the endpoint's Profile, as well as well as detailed connection information about each device.
Choose the edit icon to see additional information and to de-authorize or edit its friendly name.
SecureConnect Insights
Insights provides powerful views for SecureConnect Administrators
- Provides detailed views into bandwidth usage
- Devices and device bandwidth
- Protocols used
- Applications and bandwidth consumption
- Many other views network wide or site specific, that can be used for customer care and system management
This example (below) shows the ability to look at bandwidth consumption of devices. You have the ability to look at a single device or multiple devices.
Another example (below) shows the ability to look at bandwidth consumption across the selected network or site or organization. It also provides the ability to look at specific IP address.
