The Base Software Update (BSU) process allows for recovery or update of the base software on a VeeaHub without requiring a working mesh or Internet connection. This process is intended for use by support teams, integrators, or shipping partners and is useful in specific failure or recovery scenarios.
BSU is particularly helpful when a VeeaHub is:
- Unable to boot due to a corrupted configuration or firmware
- Running outdated base software that cannot handle new installations
- Experiencing abnormal behavior during startup
BSU avoids the need to return the device to Veea for repair. Instead, a USB stick or Micro-SD card containing a custom recovery image (provided by Veea) is used to restore or upgrade the system.
VHE09 and VHE10 (Pro)
- Media type: MicroSD Card
- Image Size: 4 to 8 GBs
Steps
- Power off the VeeaHub.
- Insert the provided Micro-SD card into the Micro-SD slot.
- Power on the device.
- Observe the LEDs to track progress (see table below)
- Wait for 2–5 minutes depending on the update size and card performance.
- Once BSU completes, power off the device and remove the SD card.
- Power the unit back on. It should boot and operate normally.
