About This Guide
This Quick Start Guide takes you from a VeeaHub running SecureConnect to a working VigiLynx™ site: registering and activating the service, creating your first location, enrolling a Zigbee sensor and a camera, and creating your first monitoring rule. Follow the sections in order the first time through.
Most of these tasks can be done in either the browser-based Veea Control Center or the VHM Mobile App. For complete details on every feature, see the VigiLynx User Guide.
Already have the applications installed? Skip Section 2 and start at Section 3: Create a New Location.

1. Welcome to VigiLynx™
VigiLynx™ is Veea’s platform for connecting, protecting, and operating a business location. It brings secure connectivity, cybersecurity, cameras, sensors, incident handling, operating history, and remote management together in one expandable system, running on the VeeaHub already installed at your site. Instead of a stack of separate routers, camera recorders, IoT gateways, and support contracts, your location runs as one managed environment.
Two Applications, One Solution
VigiLynx™ is made up of two applications that work together:
- IoT Pulse monitors Zigbee sensors and assets (temperature, humidity, door, motion, leak, and power) and turns readings into rules, alerts, and analytics.
- VeeaVision AI manages your cameras and adds AI video analytics: live view, recordings, people and vehicle detection, red zones, and people counting.
Cameras enrolled in VeeaVision AI can also be added to IoT Pulse, so a rule can attach a video clip to an alert.
Control Center or VHM Mobile App
You can work with VigiLynx from two places. The Veea Control Center is the browser interface, best for setup at a desk. The VHM Mobile App is your on-the-go interface on a phone. Both reach the same Sites, applications, and data, and most of the tasks in this guide can be done in either one. The one exception is enrolling a camera by scanning its QR code, which requires VHM.
What You’ll Do in This Guide
- Register and activate VigiLynx on your Site (Section 2)
- Create a location in IoT Pulse (Section 3)
- Enroll your first Zigbee sensor (Section 4)

When the installation finishes, selecting IoT Pulse or VeeaVision AI opens the application directly. Continue to Section 3.
3. Create a New Location
In IoT Pulse, a location is the workspace that groups a hub, devices, assets, monitoring rules, and analytics. Create the location first so discovered devices can be enrolled into the correct context. Without a location, there’s nowhere for a newly discovered device to “live.”
Essential first step: you can’t enroll sensors or cameras into IoT Pulse until a location exists for your VeeaHub.
- Open IoT Pulse from the Control Center (or VHM) and select Locations in the lefthand navigation.
-
Click Add Location at the upper right.
The Locations directory and the Add Location button
-
Enter the VeeaHub serial. This establishes the Zigbee source and MQTT topic path for the location. Your Hub’s serial number can be found on the Networks section in Control Center and then clicking on your network name for details.
- Enter a clear Location name and choose the Location type.
- Optionally enter the address, city, state or region, postal code, and country. You can add this later.
-
Click Create Location.
Create a New Location
The new location opens on its Overview tab, ready for you to enroll your first device.
4. Enrolling Your First Device
This section covers Zigbee sensors, such as motion, temperature and humidity, door and window, leak, buttons, and smart plugs. For the full list of qualified devices, see the Qualified Sensors & Peripherals chapter of the VigiLynx User Guide.
Adding a camera? Cameras are enrolled with the VHM Mobile App first (Section 5). Once a camera is in VeeaVision AI, you can also add it to IoT Pulse. See “Add Your Camera to IoT Pulse” at the end of Section 5.
-
Open your location. Select the Devices and Assets Tab. Click Add Device.
Location Devices Section
-
In the Connect and Enroll a Device window, keep IoT Device selected. Put your sensor into pairing mode following its manufacturer’s instructions, then click Activate Pairing Mode.
Activate Pairing Mode
-
The sensor appears in the list. At first it may show as a Generic Device with limited details. Wait up to a minute and IoT Pulse identifies it fully, including the make, model, and capabilities.
At first: Generic Device
Up to a minute later: fully identified
Having Difficulty Pairing? Double check that the sensor is in pairing mode, and have it near the Hub and within line-of-sight of the Hub if possible. If enough time has elapsed, you may need to reselect “Activate Pairing Mode” as shown in Step 2 above.
- Click Enroll on the device card, or check several devices and click Enroll Devices. When you’re done, click Stop Pairing Mode.
-
The sensor now appears on the location’s Devices & Assets tab under Healthy Devices, showing its type, Zigbee protocol, online status, signal strength, and when it was last seen.
Your first sensor, online and reporting
A new device is tagged as an Unassigned Asset. That’s expected. You can assign it to an asset later; it doesn’t need one to report readings or trigger rules.
5. Enrolling Your Camera from VHM
Cameras are enrolled with the VHM Mobile App by scanning the QR code on the bottom of the camera. Setup takes about a minute per camera. Alternatively, you can enroll a camera from VeeaVision in Control Center by going to the “Camera Management” section, clicking “Add Camera” in the upper right and entering its RTSP URL.
VHM required: scanning a camera’s QR code is only possible in the VHM Mobile App. Have your phone with you, signed in, and stand next to the camera.
Before You Scan
- The camera is plugged in and powered on.
- Its light is blinking green. A solid light means it already joined a network: press and hold its reset button until the light blinks again.
- You’re next to the camera.
Compatible cameras: IMOU Ranger Dual Pro (IPC-S2XE-6M0S), Amcrest ASH21-B-V2, and Amcrest IP4M-1041B. Other models may be recognized but can’t be configured from VHM yet.
Scan and Enroll the Camera
- Open VHM. Confirm the Site shown under your name (tap Change Site at the upper right to switch), then tap VeeaVision AI.
- On the Cameras screen, tap Add a Camera (or the + icon).
-
Review the Before Scanning checklist and tap Scan QR Code.
1. VHM home screen
2. Cameras screen
3. Before scanning
- Turn the camera over and center the QR code label on its base in the viewfinder.
- VHM shows the camera it detected: model, serial number, and the secure network it will join. Keep your phone next to the camera, confirm the light is blinking, and tap Add Camera to Network.
-
Keep the Configuring the Camera screen open and stay near the camera. VHM waits for the camera to join the network and assigns it its own password. This can take up to a minute.
4. Scan the QR code
5. Camera detected
6. Configuring the camera
- When the Camera Is Connecting message appears, wait about 30 seconds and watch the camera’s light. Solid green means it joined your network. Tap OK.
- The camera now appears on the Cameras screen. At first its status reads “Not yet on the network” and “Not yet in VeeaVision AI.”
-
Within a few minutes the status changes to “Seen on the network” with its IP address, and a green dot shows it’s playing live in VeeaVision AI. Your camera is enrolled.
7. Camera is connecting
8. Added, still joining
9. Enrolled and live
Tip: tap a camera on the Cameras screen at any time to see its details: serial number, MAC address, IP address, RTSP port, username, password, and stream path, each with a copy button.

Add Your Camera to IoT Pulse
This additional step lets IoT Pulse use the camera as evidence, so a rule can attach a snapshot or short clip to an alert (Section 6). The camera must already be enrolled in VeeaVision AI.
-
In IoT Pulse, open your location’s Devices & Assets tab and click Add Device. Under Pair a New Device at the bottom of the screen, click Discover Cameras. IoT Pulse finds the cameras on your VeeaVision AI gateway.
-
Select the camera (or click Select All) and click Add 1 Camera.

6. Creating Your First Rule
A rule is how IoT Pulse turns a raw reading into something actionable. A guided flow walks you through it: target, compatible rule, condition, schedule, delivery, and review.
The example below creates a Frequent Motion rule for a motion sensor that also attaches a camera clip to the alert.
-
Select Rules & Alerts in the lefthand navigation. The page shows your alerts (All, Open, Acknowledged, Resolved) above your rules. Click Create Rule.
The Rules & Alerts page
-
Choose what to monitor. Pick a Location (all compatible devices), an Asset (a group of devices), or a single Device. Then select the location and device. Click Next.
Step 1: Choose what to monitor
-
Choose a compatible rule. IoT Pulse shows only the rules your device supports, such as Temperature Too High or Low, Tamper Detected, Motion Detected, Frequent Motion, or Voltage Too High or Low. Select one and click Next.
Step 2: Choose a compatible rule
-
Set the alert condition. Choose a severity (Information, Warning, or Critical), name the rule, and set its thresholds. For Frequent Motion, that’s the number of events and the rolling window, for example 3 events in 300 seconds (5 minutes). Click Next.
Step 3: Set the alert condition
-
Set the active window. Rules are always active by default and pause only when the location is in maintenance mode. Click Next.
Step 4: Set the active window
-
Choose delivery. Every rule creates an in-app alert that operators can acknowledge and resolve. You can also send the alert to Slack, Telegram, or a webhook (SMS and WhatsApp are coming soon). Optionally check Control a Device to add a response action.
Step 5: Choose delivery
-
Set the wait time and alert message, and add camera evidence. Check Include Camera Evidence, select your camera, and choose a snapshot or short clip (for example, a 5-second clip). If you checked Control a Device, choose the device and the command to send. Click Next.
Camera evidence and device control
-
Review and create. Confirm the rule reads the way an operator would explain it: when, where, when it’s active, and how it’s delivered. Click Create Rule.
Step 6: Review and create
See Your Alerts on the Go
When a rule fires, the alert appears in the Rules & Alerts inbox and in the VHM Mobile App. In VHM, tap IoT Pulse to see your locations on a live map, with a card for any alert that needs attention, and a live stream of the latest readings. Tap View Alert to open it.

Personalize Your Device Names
Give your devices names everyone will recognize, like “Front Door Camera” or “Walk-in Cooler Sensor.” From the Devices page or the device’s Overview tab, click Edit Device. Enter a Custom Name, confirm the location and asset, and click Save Device. Friendly names make alerts and rules much easier to read.
